A FEDERAL Capital Territory High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja, on Thursday ordered the final and permanent forfeiture of several exotic properties linked to socialite, businesswoman and oil mogul, Aisha Achimugu, to the Federal Government.
News Point Nigeria reports that Justice Jude Onwugbuzie granted the order while delivering judgment on an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), seeking the court’s approval for the final forfeiture of the properties.
The ruling marks another chapter in the legal troubles facing the prominent businesswoman, who was arraigned before the court in April 2025 following her arrest at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
Achimugu, the wife of former Managing Director of the Pipeline and Product Marketing Company (PPMC), Sulaiman Achimugu, had attracted widespread public attention after hosting elaborate week-long celebrations to mark her 50th birthday both in Nigeria and abroad.
Justice Onwugbuzie, in his judgment, approved the anti-graft agency’s request for the assets linked to the oil mogul to be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had approached the court seeking a final forfeiture order over the properties, arguing that they were connected to its ongoing investigations involving the businesswoman.
The court subsequently granted the application, paving the way for the Federal Government to take ownership of the assets.
