PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja today for Europe to begin a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave.
News Point Nigeria reports that the President’s first stop will be London, United Kingdom, where he is expected to spend part of the vacation.
The information was contained in a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, dated August 30, 2026.
According to the statement, President Tinubu is expected to return home after the working vacation to join the hectic campaign for the January 2027 election.
The three-week leave forms part of the President’s annual vacation and will take him to Europe, with London as his first destination.
President Tinubu’s return is expected to coincide with preparations for the January 2027 election, as political activities and campaigns gather momentum ahead of the poll.
The President is expected to resume his official engagements and join the campaign activities after completing the three-week working vacation.
The Presidency did not provide further details on the President’s itinerary during his stay in Europe.
The development comes as political parties and their candidates intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria and participate actively in the campaign ahead of the January 2027 election.
