After Explosive Claims, Fake Agency Boss Adeyemi Backtracks, Says He’s Unsure Of Gbajabiamila’s Involvement

ADENIYI Adeyemi, the self-styled Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has declared that he never met President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, physically, insisting he is prepared to submit documentary evidence to security agencies to support all the claims surrounding his disputed appointment.

News Point Nigeria reports that Adeyemi made the disclosure while speaking during an interview with social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), as fresh twists continue to emerge in the controversy surrounding the PFIPC, an organisation the Presidency has consistently maintained does not exist under the Tinubu administration.

The latest development comes weeks after the Presidency publicly distanced itself from both the PFIPC and Adeyemi, insisting that the organisation was never created by the Federal Government and that Gbajabiamila did not appoint him to any position.

The controversy escalated further on July 7 when Gbajabiamila threatened Adeyemi with a ₦10 billion defamation lawsuit over allegations of bribery and murder allegedly made against him.

Speaking during the interview, Adeyemi said he neither met Gbajabiamila before nor after his appointment, explaining that all his communications with the Chief of Staff were facilitated by his late friend, Dolapo Tanimola.

“I would not say he (Gbajabiamila) is lying, and I won’t say he is saying the truth; that is why I requested from my press conference; I pleaded with Mr. President to set up an investigative panel to look into this whole issue and unravel the truth to know who is involved,” Adeyemi said.

“I think three times I have spoken with Gbajabiamila, through my late friend, Dolapo Tanimola.”

When asked if those conversations were held via video call, he replied: “No, it was not on video call.”

Adeyemi maintained that he possesses documentary evidence to support every allegation and claim regarding his appointment and the activities of the controversial agency.

“I am willing and ready to help security agencies or the panel by Mr. President to unravel the truth. In fact, any moment from now, I will go to the DSS or police to submit all the documents I have to help them investigate and look into this matter,” he said.

“I will go, any moment from now. I will go to authenticate and verify my document and unravel the truth.”

Explaining why he established the now-disputed agency, Adeyemi insisted that his actions were motivated by patriotism rather than personal gain.

Speaking in another interview with VeryDarkMan through a video call on Wednesday, he said his objective was to improve Nigeria’s global image, attract foreign investment and promote President Tinubu’s administration.

According to him, he was also unaware that allocations for the agency had reportedly been inserted into the national budget.

“I established that amount (rumoured ₦400 million) for the agency’s office out of passion for the country. I wanted to bring in foreign investors to Nigeria so that I can write my name in gold. I am just desperate to serve,” he said.

“That’s the reason I paid the money. I just want to do my part for the country. That agency was established to bring in foreign investments to Nigeria and make Nigeria a preferred destination for foreign investors.”

He added that the agency was designed to collaborate with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as well as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to improve Nigeria’s investment climate.

“I walk around the inter-ministerial agencies and partner with the MDAs and EFCC to make Nigeria a preferred world destination for investments. So, it’s not about personal interest. Before this whole brouhaha, we were expecting the world to be in Nigeria through our forthcoming global summit,” he stated.

Adeyemi also challenged the Presidency’s insistence that the PFIPC never existed, arguing that the agency’s alleged inclusion in the 2026 national budget raises serious questions.

“This whole thing is confusing especially when the Presidency said that the agency does not exist. How come? The agency that found its way into the national budget. I didn’t prepare any budget. In fact, I was in detention for 23 days when the budget for the Presidential Foreign Council was prepared and defended in the National Assembly between October and November,” he said.

He further disclosed that former Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun had invited him to explain how he obtained his appointment.

“The former Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, had invited me to explain how I came about the agency from the Chief of Staff to the President. I gave him the name and number of the person that facilitated the appointment letter for me. I was thereafter detained,” Adeyemi alleged.

“How come the budget that nobody defended still found its way into the national budget? By the time I came out on November 19, 2025, I was charged to court and they said the same office space had been reallocated to another government official. So I’ve not been going to the office since that October 27.”

Responding to questions about Gbajabiamila’s legal action against him, Adeyemi reiterated that although he never met the Chief of Staff physically, he spoke with him by telephone through his late associate, Dolapo Tanimola, and maintained that he is ready to defend all his claims before the appropriate authorities.
