THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Benue State, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, as the winner of the March 18 poll and the Governor-Elect. The Catholic priest won 473,933 votes ahead of his closest rival and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Titus Uba, who scored 223,913. The Returning Office, Prof Faruq Kuta and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna declared Alia the winner. Alia, who is a member of the ruling APC, is expected to take over from Governor Samuel Ortom of the PDP G5.

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the 2023 governorship election in Ebonyi State. CANDIDATE of the Peoples Democratic Party Rt Honorable Sheriff Oborevwori has been declared winner of the March 18th Governorship election in Delta State. Declaring the result at INEC Collation Center in Asaba, the INEC State Returning Officer Prof Georgewill Owunari, Vice Chancellor Rivers State University said Sheriff Oborevwori polled 360234 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress APC Candidate Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who scored 240229. While the Labour Party candidate, Kennedy Pela came a distant third with 48047. THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ogori Magongo local government in Kogi State, Bode Ogumola, has been declared winner of the House of Assembly election held on Saturday in the state. POLICE operatives in Imo State have rescued 19 INEC Ad-Hoc staff who were kidnapped in the early hours of Saturday in Imo State. The development was confirmed by INEC authorities in the state. The apex court dismissed an appeal brought before it by Benjamin Lorlumum and one other, seeking the disqualification of the respondent from the governorship race on various grounds.
