TROOPS of Operation Hadarin Daji on Friday killed dozens of bandits and  rescued 24 abductees in the Kabugu Lamba, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. ZAMFARA State Governor, Dauda Lawal has signed an Executive Order restructuring the state government ministries from 28 to 16. The measure is to cut wastage in government and eliminate duplication of functions, his Spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris said on Thursday. JUSTICE James Omotosho of the Federal High Court Abuja has granted bail to the former Head of the Rapid Response Team, Abba Kyari after 18 months in prison custody for refusing to escape the Kuje Prison when it was attacked on July 5, 2022. Justice Omotosho ruled that the fact that Kyari and his team refused to escape when the Prison was attacked, where about 90 per cent of the inmates escaped, has proven that Kyari is ready to face any allegations against him. EIGHT suspects have been arrested in Katsina State after burning a vehicle belonging to the police in the state. It was gathered that the suspects were protesting as officers tried to arrest a traffic offender on Tuesday at Kofar Guga, one of the busiest roads in the Katsina metropolis. BANDITS have killed a legal practitioner identified as Barrister Ahmad Muhammad Abubakar in his home at Kotorkoshi Town, Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Until his death, Barrister Muhammad was the welfare Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Gusau Branch. THE Federal Government is set to reduce the importation of drugs in the country from 60% to 40% to promote the local manufacturing of drugs. THE Academic Staff Union of Universities has rejected the Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards prepared by the National Universities Commission. The union said it was nightmarish, a threat to quality university education, and an erosion of powers of the university Senate in Nigerian universities.
