A JOINT operation by the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands has rescued five victims who were kidnapped near Ogbere Forest in Ogun State, less than 25 hours after they were abducted.
News Point Nigeria reports that the victims regained their freedom through a coordinated security operation codenamed KOSAYE, meaning “No Space” in Yoruba, as operatives from both state police commands intensified efforts to track down the kidnappers.
The victims were abducted on Wednesday near Ogbere Forest in Ogun State before the joint police operation swung into action.
According to the police, the five victims were successfully rescued on Thursday, within 25 hours of the kidnapping.
Among those rescued were the daughter and sister of a woman who was shot during the abduction.
The successful rescue operation was carried out by the Lagos and Ogun Police Commands under the joint security initiative codenamed KOSAYE, which is aimed at denying criminals safe havens within the two states.
The operation underscores the growing collaboration between the two police commands in tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes across their shared border communities.
