GOMBE State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has approved the appointment of Usman Mohammed Shanu as the new Secretary of the Gombe State House of Assembly Service Commission.
The Head of the Civil Service, Professor Mu’azu Shehu, who conveyed the Governor’s approval, said the appointment followed the retirement of the former Secretary of the Commission, Hajiya Aishatu Abdulkadir Rasheed, from Gombe North Senatorial District.
News Point Nigeria reports that the appointment is expected to fill the vacancy created by the retirement while further strengthening the administrative operations of the Commission.
According to the statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe, the appointment is intended not only to fill the vacancy created by the retirement but also to strengthen the administrative operations of the Commission and promote geographical balance in public appointments across the State.
Shanu is a seasoned administrator with extensive experience in the public service. His competence and commitment to duty have distinguished him throughout his career.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya expects the new appointee to bring his wealth of professional experience and administrative capacity to bear in strengthening the operations of the House of Assembly Service Commission and enhancing its effectiveness in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
