THE Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) has expressed deep shock over the sudden death of one of its former female students, Sadiya Isma’il Uba, who reportedly died following an auto crash on Friday.
According to the MAAUN website, the deceased, a Medical Laboratory Science student who graduated this year, was said to have passed away after the fatal motor accident that occurred earlier in the day.
In a condolence message, the President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, mourned the passing of Sadiya, describing her as a humble and highly disciplined student whose death has left the university community devastated.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. We have just received the heartbreaking news that Sadiya Ismail Uba, one of our Medical Laboratory Science students who graduated this year, has passed away following a motor accident earlier today (Friday),” Prof. Israr said.
He added: “This is a painful loss for her family, classmates, lecturers, and the entire MAAUN Community. May the Almighty Allah forgives her shortcomings, grants her Aljannatul Firdaus, and gives her family the strength to bear this loss.”
“On behalf of the Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to the parents, relatives and friends of the deceased,” the university president stated.
Prof. Israr also prayed to Almighty Allah to comfort her parents and relatives during this difficult period of grief and mourning.
The deceased, who left behind her parents and relatives, has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites in Yobe State.
