THE Jigawa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has announced the provision of free Wi-Fi services and uninterrupted 24-hour solar power supply for practising journalists at the Press Centre in Dutse.
The initiative, according to the union, is aimed at enhancing the professional experience, productivity and efficiency of working journalists in the state.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman of the NUJ Jigawa State Council, Comrade Ismail Ibrahim Dutse.
The statement explained that the new initiative would provide high-speed internet access to all members of the union at the Press Centre.
According to the statement, members will be able to connect to the network, identified as “WiFi”, using a password that will be provided by the NUJ State Council.
It added that the council has also put in place a reliable and uninterrupted solar power system to ensure that journalists can carry out their professional duties without disruption at any time of the day.
The statement noted that the round-the-clock power supply would guarantee uninterrupted operations and improve the working conditions of journalists at the Press Centre.
The council urged members to take full advantage of the facilities to strengthen their communication, improve their skills, enhance efficiency and promote greater collaboration among media practitioners.
It further stated that journalists seeking inquiries or assistance regarding the development should contact the NUJ Jigawa State Council.
