A MODEST remembrance gathering is scheduled to take place in Abuja on Monday, July 13, to honour the legacy and contributions of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on July 13, 2025.
News Point Nigeria reports that friends, associates, and well-wishers are expected to converge in the Federal Capital Territory for solemn prayers and reflections in his honour.
The gathering is intended as a moment of remembrance to celebrate his service, leadership, and contributions to Nigeria, following his burial in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in July 2025.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari died at the age of 82 on July 13, 2025, in London while receiving medical treatment in a clinic. His passing triggered nationwide tributes, a week of national mourning, and a federal public holiday in honour of his legacy.
His body was later flown back to Nigeria and laid to rest according to Islamic rites at his private family compound in Daura, Katsina State.
