THE Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) has extended heartfelt condolences to Professor (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, the President of the University, over the passing of his elder brother, Mohammad Sharif.
Late Mohammad Sharif died on Tuesday at a hospital in India following an illness.
News Point Nigeria reports that in a condolence message signed by the President of MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, he described the death of Mohammad Sharif as a great loss not only to his immediate family but also to all those who knew him.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. It is with great sadness and deep shock that the entire MAAUN community receives the news of the passing of our beloved brother. May the Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Jannatul Firdaus, and comfort the family during this difficult time.”
Professor Gwarzo also extended his deepest condolences to Prof. Israr, the deceased’s family, friends and associates, praying to Almighty Allah to grant his family and loved ones the courage to bear the irreparable loss.
“On behalf of the Management of MAAUN Group, staff and students of the Universities, I extend our heartfelt condolences to you over this great loss,” Prof. Gwarzo said.
The deceased had since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites after the funeral prayer in India.
