PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musawa, following the death of her mother, Hajiya Fatima Musa Musawa.
The condolence message was contained in a statement sent to News Point Nigeria on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in which President Tinubu expressed sadness over the loss and prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family.
News Point Nigeria reports that Hajiya Fatima Musa Musawa died on Saturday, June 13, 2026, leaving behind a family that has once again been thrown into mourning just a few years after the passing of its patriarch, Ambassador Musa Musawa.
In his message, President Tinubu urged the minister to accept the loss of her mother with equanimity, noting that the death of a parent, especially a mother, is often a deeply painful experience.
The President said he understood the grief associated with losing a mother because he had personally experienced such a loss.
“I received the news of the demise of Hajiya Musawa with deep sadness, occurring just a few years after the patriarch of the family, Ambassador Musa Musawa, passed on,” the President stated.
President Tinubu further sympathised with Barrister Hannatu Musawa, her siblings and the entire Musawa family, describing the late Hajiya Fatima Musawa as a loving mother and a strong pillar of support whose presence provided strength and stability within the family.
“I condole with Barrister Hannatu Musawa and the entire family at this time of grieving over a loving mother who was also a strong pillar of support and strength within the family,” he said.
The President also offered prayers for the repose of the deceased and for divine comfort for those she left behind.
“I pray that Allah will grant Hajiya Fatima Musawa eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus, and grant the Minister, her siblings, and the entire family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Tinubu added.
The President’s message comes as family members, friends, associates and well-wishers continue to pay tributes to the late Hajiya Fatima Musawa, remembering her contributions to her family and community.
Her passing has drawn condolences from various quarters, with many praying for the peaceful repose of her soul and strength for the Musawa family during this difficult period.
