WIKKI Tourists FC has announced the death of its defender, Kabiru Mohammed, following a fatal auto crash along the Zaria–Gusau road.
News Point Nigeria Sport reports that the club disclosed the tragic development in a statement posted on its official Facebook handle on Thursday.
“The club is deeply saddened to announce the tragic death of Mohammed following a fatal accident along the Zaria–Gusau road,” the statement read.
According to the club, the defender joined Wikki Tourists from Lobi Stars FC during the ongoing 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League season and quickly established himself as a key member of the team’s defence.
The statement noted that Mohammed was widely admired for his commitment, discipline and passion for the game.
The club further stated that his last appearance for Wikki Tourists was during the President’s Federation Cup clash against Jigawa Golden Stars Junior Team at the Nasara Stadium, Kofar Doka, Zaria, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
“The Management, Technical Crew, Players and supporters of Wikki Tourists FC extend heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the entire football community over this painful loss,” the statement added.
The club stressed that Mohammed’s dedication and contributions to the team would never be forgotten.
Wikki Tourists is the central football club owned by the Bauchi State Government.
