GOMBE State Governor and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF), Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has extended warm Easter greetings to the Christian community in Gombe State and across the globe, urging them to reflect on the values of sacrifice, hope, and renewal that define the season.
In a goodwill message to commemorate the 2025 Easter celebrations, Governor Inuwa Yahaya emphasized the significance of the season as a time to embrace love, unity, and compassion while reaffirming faith in God and service to humanity as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
“Easter symbolises love, sacrifice, and the triumph of good over evil. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our Christian brethren for successfully completing the Lenten season and for celebrating this spiritually significant event”.
He expressed hope that the blessings of the season would rejuvenate the nation and inspire a collective commitmenttowards building a peaceful, progressive, and prosperous society.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya also used the occasion to advocate for sustained peace and security, especially in light of recent violent attacks and rising insecurity in some parts of the country.
He stressed the importance of continued prayers and collaborative efforts to overcome the country’s socio-economic and security challenges.
“As a nation, we are going through trying times, especially with the resurgence of violence and criminality in some parts of the North. But Easter reminds us that even in our darkest moments, hope is never lost. Through collective effort and faith in God, we shall surmount our challenges and emerge stronger,” he added.
The Governor urged religious leaders to always use their platforms to preach peace, promote interfaith harmony, and strengthen the bonds of unity among Nigeria’s diverse population.
“As we celebrate Easter, let us be guided by the core principles of the season and integrate them into our daily lives. I wish all our Christian brothers and sisters a peaceful and joyous celebration. May the spirit of the season pave the way for a brighter future for our dear state and great nation at large,” the Governor prayed.
