PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu is returning to the nation’s capital earlier than planned after concluding his work vacation ahead of schedule. The President will arrive in Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume full official duties, the State House announced on Monday.
Tinubu departed Nigeria on September 4, 2025, for France, where he was scheduled to spend part of his annual holiday before heading to the United Kingdom for the second leg of the vacation.
However, the President decided to cut short the break and return to the country earlier than originally planned.
In a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy shared with News Point Nigeria, the presidency disclosed that the President’s early return was in line with his commitment to addressing urgent national matters and maintaining an active hand in the country’s governance.
While in France, President Tinubu held a private luncheon with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris.
The two leaders reportedly discussed critical areas of cooperation, including trade, investment, security, climate action, and global peace initiatives.
Both leaders agreed to deepen bilateral relations to foster mutual prosperity and strengthen collaboration on international issues.
The early conclusion of the trip is being seen by many as a sign of Tinubu’s readiness to re-engage with pressing domestic challenges, including economic reforms, food security, and power sector interventions.
This marks Tinubu’s second international trip since mid-year, reflecting his growing diplomatic engagements with key partners while balancing domestic priorities.
