WORLD record holder Tobi Amusan equalled her season’s best time of 12.28 seconds to win the women’s 100m hurdles at the Paris Diamond League on Sunday.
News Point Nigeria Sport reports that the Nigerian sprint hurdler stormed to victory ahead of American duo Grace Stark and Alaysha Johnson, who finished second and third in 12.38 seconds and 12.39 seconds respectively.
Amusan delivered a powerful finish after reeling in Nadine Visser, who had taken an early lead in the race, before pulling clear of the field to secure a comfortable victory.
The winning time marked the third occasion this season that the 28-year-old has clocked 12.28 seconds, having previously recorded the same time at the Xiamen Diamond League and the Rabat Diamond League in May.
Sunday’s triumph was Amusan’s second victory on the Diamond League circuit this season, following her earlier success in Rabat. She also claimed victory at the New Taipei City Athletics Open earlier this month.
The Nigerian began her campaign after winning a fourth consecutive African title and has continued to build momentum with every outing as she prepares for the Diamond League final and the Commonwealth Games later this year.
