GOMBE State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The endorsement was made during the party’s congress held on Tuesday to elect new state leadership to run its affairs for the next four years.
The motion for the endorsement was moved by the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, while the member representing Dukku/ Nafada Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdullahi El-Rasheed seconded and other members of the party supported overwhelmingly by voice affirmation.
Governor, CON, said the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of the party in the forthcoming elections was a demonstration of appreciation for courageous and quality leadership at a time the nation is confronting difficult economic and governance challenges.
He described Gombe State as a stronghold of the APC, noting that the party’s impressive membership strength and unity have positioned it among the most vibrant chapters nationwide.
He revealed that the state recorded over 400,000 registered members during the party’s recent e-registration and membership revalidation exercise, which placed Gombe 10th across the country.
The Governor stated that the achievement was informed by the growing confidence of the people in the APC administration at both state and federal levels.
“I am proud of what we have achieved over the years as a party and as a government. Over these years, we have executed projects and implemented policies and programmes that impacted lives especially in underserved communities. And I believe this massive registration is as a result of the good we have been doing to the people”, the governor said.
“We are equally proud of what the Federal Government is doing under the leadership of Mr. President, especially at this challenging time in our nation’s history.
Leadership requires courage, commitment and vision, and we have seen those qualities demonstrated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.
At no time that we requested for support to deliver impactful services to our people that the president did not support us. I can proudly say that we now have a purposeful leadership”, the governor added.
The governor also emphasized that unity remains the greatest strength of the party in the state, assuring the national leadership that the APC family in Gombe is firmly united and prepared to secure victory in the next general election.
“In Gombe, the APC is united. Everyone is involved, and we are working together with a shared purpose. I assure you that I will continue to steer the party towards greater success and eventual victory across all levels in 2027”, he assured.
The governor further expressed appreciation to the national leadership of the party, particularly the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, for their commitment to strengthening internal democracy and party cohesion across the country.
He also commended members of the Congress Committee and other officials deployed to supervise the exercise in the state, noting that their professionalism ensured a peaceful, transparent and credible process.
Earlier speaking, the Chairman of the Gombe State APC Congress Committee, Dr. Danjuma Adamu Dabo, stated that Gombe had adopted consensus mode for the election exercise, disclosing that all the consensus candidates have been successfully screened by the national screening committee with no one challenging the process.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Inuwa Yahaya and the party stakeholders in the State for providing a favorable atmosphere for the committee to conduct a hitch free congress from the wards up to state levels.
The newly elected chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr. Mohammed Dantata Ndus, described the APC state congress as historical and a milestone in the live and history of the party in state.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his leadership in championing a strong APC party structure, assuring him and the entire members of the party that the new leadership will work as as team to create a strong sense of partisanship among party loyalists and give their support in the strive to deliver victory for the party at all levels.
The outgone chairman of the APC, Mr. Nitte Amangal, thanked Governor Inuwa Yahaya, party stakeholders as well as the members for their support and solidarity during his tenure, assuring that even as their tenure elapsed, they would continue to commit themselves to all activities and ensure the party’s resounding victory in the forthcoming elections.
The congress was attended by party faithful including the deputy governor, serving and former members of the National Assembly, Speaker and members of the House of Assembly, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, Chief of Staff, Alh. Abubakar Inuwa Kari, Commissioners, Chairmen of Local Government and other key relevant stakeholders among numerous others.
