SUSPECTED kidnappers have killed Alhaji Garba Buba, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rantan Ward, Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State.
News Point Nigeria reports that the attackers, who reportedly invaded the Rantan community on Sunday night, opened fire on residents, killing another resident, Sulaiman Zunduma.
A resident, Hamza Isah Rantan, confirmed the attack in a Facebook post, eulogising the victims and saying the gunmen attacked the community on Sunday night.
He said Buba was shot during the attack and later died in hospital, where he was receiving treatment.
He added that Sulaiman Zundum, who was also shot during the attack, died instantly.
Hamza wrote:

“On Sunday night kidnappers attacked our town, Rantan, where they shot Alhaji Garab Buha, the APC ward chairman in Rantan, who later died in a hospital. They also killed another resident, Sulaiman Zunduma.
“We pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcoming and heals the injured.”
Police authorities in the state are yet to issue a statement on the development.
The current attack is coming hours after the rescue of the Sarkin Noman of Kano State, Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo Chiromawa, who was abducted by gunmen in the Chiromawa community in Garun Malam Local Government Area.
Five persons were said to have been shot and injured during the attack, which occurred at about 11pm on Saturday.
