BLUEPRINT Newspapers Limited is set to host its 2025 Annual Public Lecture, Impact Series and Awards in Abuja, with the event expected to bring together government officials, policymakers, members of the diplomatic community, security chiefs, legislators, captains of industry, academics, civil society organisations, development partners and other distinguished stakeholders.
News Point Nigeria reports that the event, scheduled for Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, will begin at 10:00 a.m. and feature a major national conversation on the security challenges and integrity of Nigeria’s 2027 elections.
The invitation to the event was signed by the Managing Director/CEO of Blueprint Newspapers Limited, Salisu Umar, on behalf of the Board, Management and Staff of the organisation.
The highlight of this year’s Annual Public Lecture will be a keynote address by the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), who is expected to speak on the theme: “Security Challenges and the Integrity of Nigeria’s 2027 Elections.”
Blueprint said its Annual Public Lecture has become one of Nigeria’s foremost platforms for thoughtful engagement on issues of national importance, providing an avenue for critical stakeholders to exchange ideas and examine matters that shape the country’s future.
The event is expected to attract government officials, policymakers, diplomats, security chiefs, legislators, captains of industry, academics, civil society organisations, development partners and other distinguished stakeholders for discussions on issues of national significance.
Beyond the public lecture, the occasion will also feature the Blueprint Impact Series and Awards, where outstanding individuals, institutions and organisations that have made notable contributions to national development will be recognised.
According to the organisers, the awards will celebrate excellence and contributions to public service, economic growth, innovation and good governance.
Blueprint said the presence of invited guests would add immense value to the event, which it described as an important national conversation and celebration of excellence.
The organisation also expressed optimism that the 2025 edition of its Annual Public Lecture, Impact Series and Awards would provide another important platform for engagement on the issues confronting Nigeria, particularly as the country moves closer to the 2027 general elections.
The event is expected to focus attention on the relationship between security and credible elections, while also examining the broader issues surrounding the integrity of the electoral process and Nigeria’s democratic future.
