KANO State Governor, Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the immediate dismissal of two Senior Special Assistants following findings of separate investigative panels that exposed their involvement in misconduct.

    NEW UBA

The announcement was contained in a statement on Saturday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim.

According to the SSG, Abubakar Umar Sharada, Senior Special Assistant on Political Mobilization, was removed from office after being indicted by a Special Investigative Committee for facilitating the controversial bail of a notorious drug baron, Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu. Testimony given by Sharada himself confirmed his role in the bail process.

In a letter dated August 8, 2025, Sharada was ordered to hand over all government property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary, Research, Evaluation and Political Affairs, on or before Monday, August 11, 2025. He was also warned against presenting himself as a government official.

Similarly, Tasiu Adamu Al’amin Roba, Senior Special Assistant in the Cabinet Office, was dismissed after his arrest in 2024 for rebagging palliative grains at a warehouse in Sharada.

He has since been arraigned on charges of theft and criminal conspiracy over the diversion of public assets. Roba was also directed to return all government property, including his ID card, by August 11, 2025.

In contrast, the Governor exonerated Hon. Musa Ado Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainages, after an investigative committee cleared him of all allegations.

Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s commitment to integrity, transparency, and zero tolerance for corruption, warning all public officers to maintain the highest ethical standards in public and private life.

The public was further cautioned against engaging the dismissed appointees in matters concerning the state government, as anyone doing so would be acting at their own risk.
