THE President of the MAAUN Group of Universities, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Dr. Salisu Salisu as the substantive Provost of the Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology (FCAPT).
News Point Nigeria reports that Professor Gwarzo described the appointment as timely and well deserved, noting that Dr. Salisu’s outstanding track record, commitment to excellence and impressive performance as Acting Provost made him eminently qualified for the position.
In a statement, the MAAUN President said the appointment reflected the Tinubu administration’s recognition of competence, dedication and experience in strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural and educational institutions.
“I am delighted that Mr. President has entrusted this important responsibility to a hardworking, disciplined and dedicated administrator,” Professor Gwarzo said.
“Having served the institution for many years, Dr. Salisu possesses a deep understanding of the college’s strengths, challenges and enormous potential.
“I have no doubt that under his leadership, FCAPT will witness remarkable growth and greater academic excellence.”
Professor Gwarzo noted that the appointment came at a time when the Federal Government was placing renewed emphasis on agriculture as a key driver of economic diversification, food security and national development.
“With President Tinubu prioritising agriculture, I am confident that Dr. Salisu will provide the visionary leadership needed to reposition the college to produce highly skilled graduates and professionals who will contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s agricultural transformation and national development,” he said.
The MAAUN President congratulated Dr. Salisu on his appointment and urged him to justify the confidence reposed in him by providing leadership anchored on integrity, innovation and inclusiveness.
He also expressed optimism that FCAPT would evolve into a leading centre of excellence in agricultural education, research and innovation under the new Provost.
“On behalf of the management, staff and students of the MAAUN Group of Universities, I sincerely thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this thoughtful appointment.
“I also congratulate Dr. Salisu Salisu and the entire FCAPT community on this milestone,” Professor Gwarzo said.
