MARYAM Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) has recorded another academic milestone as all its Medical Laboratory Science students who sat for the 2026 Final Professional Examination passed successfully, achieving a 100 per cent success rate.
News Point Nigeria reports that the outstanding performance further reinforces the university’s growing reputation for academic excellence.
Medical Laboratory Science students are required to undertake three professional examinations during the course of their programme.
The first examination is written in the second semester of the 400 Level, followed by the second and final professional examinations in the 500 Level, in line with the requirements of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
According to the 2026 Final Professional Examination result summary released by the MLSCN, all 88 MAAUN students who participated in the examination passed with impressive grades.
The achievement marks another significant milestone for the university, reflecting the quality of its teaching, rigorous academic standards, and the unwavering dedication of both its students and faculty members.
Reacting to the results, the President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, congratulated the students on their exceptional performance and described the achievement as historic.
He said recording a 100 per cent pass rate in a highly competitive professional examination is a testament to the university’s unwavering commitment to producing competent healthcare professionals capable of meeting global standards.
Prof. Israr also commended the lecturers and staff of the Department of Medical Laboratory Science for their dedication and hard work, while urging the students to uphold the highest standards of professionalism as they prepare to make meaningful contributions to Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
