THE Nigeria Democratic Congress has released its timetable for the sale of nomination forms, screening of aspirants, and primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
News Point Nigeria reports that the party pegged its presidential nomination form at N60 million, comprising N20 million for the Expression of Interest form and N40 million for the nomination form.
According to the timetable released by the party, governorship aspirants are expected to pay N30 million, which includes a N10 million Expression of Interest fee and N20 million nomination fee.
In a statement jointly signed by the National Chairman of the party, Senator Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe, and the National Secretary, Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, the NDC also announced that senatorial nomination forms would cost N8 million.
The House of Representatives form was fixed at N6 million, while aspirants seeking election into state Houses of Assembly would pay N2.5 million.
The party stated that the sale of nomination forms would commence on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, and end on Monday, May 18, 2026.
According to the timetable, screening and interview of aspirants to determine their eligibility for the primaries would hold between Tuesday, May 19, and Thursday, May 21, 2026.
The NDC advised all aspirants to appear for the screening exercise with their relevant credentials and supporting documents.
The party further disclosed that appeals arising from the screening exercise would be heard on May 25 and 26, 2026.
Primary elections for various elective offices are scheduled to take place on May 27 and 28, while the presidential primary election will hold on May 29, 2026, in Abuja.
The party also revealed that governorship primaries would be conducted at the local government level.
According to the statement, all aspirants would be required to sign an undertaking in line with the party’s guidelines and code of conduct.
The NDC assured its members and aspirants of a transparent, inclusive, and democratic process in both the sale of forms and the conduct of primary elections.
The party further announced that it would adopt the “open secret ballot” system for its primaries in a bid to ensure credibility, fairness, and internal democracy.
