    Women Medical Association Holds Annual Scientific Conference

    KANO State Chapter of Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN) is to hold scientific conference and annual meeting at FABS Events Center, Magajin Rumfa road, Nassarawa GRA, Thursday.

    This was announced in a statement titled “Invitation to Attend Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria Scientific Conference and National Executive Council Meeting”, signed by MWAN Kano State, President Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar and MWAN National President, Dr L. A. Otolorin.

    The invitation announced that the three day event hosted by Kano Branch of MWAN will feature three major activities, namely “Medical Outreach, MWAN NEC meeting and a scientific conference” with the theme, “Leadership, Governance and Health”.

    According to the statement, MWAN Kano Branch whose offices are at MWAN-PAS DRPC Project Office, Khadijah House along Zaria Road is a non governmental organization “for fully registered female medical and dental practitioners”.

    “It is an affiliate of Medical women’s international association (MWIA) and Nigeria Medical Association (NMA)”, the statement added.

    The statement added that, MWAN conference and annual meeting is a general assembly to promote active participation of members in the governance of the association and attract partnerships”. Such partnerships are “in areas of research, trainings, women’s health, including cervical and breast cancer early detection and treatment, child health including immunization, public health emergencies among others”.
