A RENOWNED professor of law and former legal adviser to the former Nigerian president, General Sani Abacha, Prof. Auwalu Yadudu has lost his wife, Hajiya Zainab Auwal Yadudu.
According to a short message sent by the professor, a former dean, Faculty of Law at the Bayero University Kano, his wife died in the United State of America on Sunday.
He said the late Hajiya Zainab, who he had spent over four decades with died in the hospital while reciting Kalimah Ashshhada, adding that arrangements are underway to bring her body to Nigeria for the funeral.
Allahu Akbar, I have just received a message from Prof. Auwalu Yadudu in the US, announcing the sad loss of his wife of over four decades.
“From Allah we are and to him we shall return. Allah Has recalled the gift He has bestowed on us. AlhamduliLlah, Zainab Auwalu YADUDU has just passed away peacefully and with Kalimah Ashshahada on her lips on 8th January 2023 at the University of Kentucky Hospital, USA, at 12.52 noon surrounded by family. We are making arrangements to bring her body to Nigeria for funeral and will communicate details when they become clear, insha’Allah,” the statement read.
