GOMBE State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, for the two-day meeting of the North-East Governors’ Forum (NEGF).
News Point Nigeria reports that Governor Inuwa Yahaya was received on arrival at the Maiduguri Airport by his Borno State counterpart and Chairman of the North-East Governors’ Forum, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, alongside other senior government officials.
The development was contained in a statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe.
The rotational meeting is being attended by the six governors of the North-East to deliberate on critical issues affecting the region and explore coordinated and sustainable solutions to its shared challenges.
The forum is expected to focus on key areas of regional development, including security, infrastructure, economic development, education, healthcare, agriculture, environmental sustainability and human capital development.
The governors are also expected to receive presentations from relevant government agencies, development partners and other stakeholders, with a view to strengthening regional collaboration and improving the wellbeing and prosperity of the people of the North-East.
A communiqué is expected to be issued at the end of the meeting, outlining key decisions, resolutions and areas of collective action agreed upon by the governors.
