You Lied, G-5 Govs Not Supporting Tinubu, Jang Tells Gov Lalong

A MEMBER of the Integrity Group and former Governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, has berated the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Governor Simon Lalong, over his claim that the G-5 governors led by Nyesom Wike were supporting the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Reacting to the claim in a statement on Sunday, Jang stated that Nigerians no longer took anything coming from Lalong seriously.

The statement, which was signed by his Media Consultant, Clinton Garuba, said, “Obvious sign that Lalong is daydreaming is him thinking that the G5 PDP governors and allies including former Governor Jang are supporting Tinubu.

“They have repeatedly said that they do not have personal problems with Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, but with the process that brought him up.

“Yes, the integrity group has disagreements with the PDP and their withdrawal of support for Atiku’s campaign does not in any way suggest that they support the APC candidate. Only Lalong and his fellow dreamers think so.”

News Point Nigeria reported that, Gov Lalong, who is also, the Director General Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organisation, said the G5 Governors will support the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.

Lalong who is also the Chairman of the 19 Northern States Governors, mocked those who are in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), led by former governor Jonah Jang faction in support of the G5, saying that they are confused as their leader Jang who is fighting the APC in the state will be cowed to support the presidential candidate of the APC.

Calling them confused people, Lalong urged Jang and his followers to decamp to APC and save themselves of the impending show of shame that will soon befall them.

“The G5 Governors will support the Tinubu and Shettima presidential elections. So the PDP faction led by Governor Jang is only fooling themselves. I call them confused people”, Lalong said.

The governor stated this during the APC State Governorship Campaign flag-off held in Wase Local Government area of Plateau South, where also over 9000, decampees from different political parties defected to the APC.
