    NBTE Accredits 17 Programmes At Federal Polytechnic Kabo

    THE National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has accredited 17 academic programmes at Federal Polytechnic Kabo across various schools within the institution.

    RAMADAN KAREEM

    This benchmark, achieved on Friday, August 16, 2024, marks a significant step in the Polytechnic’s commitment to providing quality technical and vocational education.

    The accreditation covers a broad range of disciplines across four major schools within the Polytechnic, including the School of Engineering, which now offers National Diplomas (ND) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering Technology, and Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

    Programmes accredited by the NBTE in the School of Health Sciences include ND in Public Health Technology, Science Laboratory Technology, Orthopaedic Cast Technology, Pharmaceutical Technology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Dispensing Opticianry, Animal Health and Production Technology, and Environmental Science and Management Technology.

    In the School of Social and Management Sciences, the accredited programmes include ND in Office Technology and Management, Business Administration and Management, Microfinance and Entrepreneurship Development, and Accounting.

    For the School of Environmental Studies, the accredited programmes are ND in Quantity Surveying and Estate Management and Evaluation.

    The Rector of the Polytechnic, Professor Mohammed Sanusi Magaji, expressed sincere gratitude to the NBTE for the accreditation, stating that this development reflects the Polytechnic’s adherence to high standards of education and its commitment to producing competent graduates who will contribute positively to Kano State and the nation’s socio-economic development.

    Professor Magaji further stressed that the accreditation is a testament to the hard work and resilience of the staff, as well as the continuous support from the government and other stakeholders.

    He reassured students, parents, and the general public that Federal Polytechnic Kabo will continue to strive for excellence in all its academic endeavors.

    This newspart discovered that this is the first time in the history of Nigerian polytechnics that an institution has had 17 programmes accredited at inception.
