PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Minister of Agriculture and one-time National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Audu Ogbeh, describing him as a true patriot who firmly believed in Nigeria’s potential.
Ogbeh’s death was announced earlier on Saturday in a statement by his family.
In a condolence message issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the late politician as “a man of strong convictions who spoke the truth as he saw it” and “always ready with facts and figures to support his propositions.”
“Chief Ogbeh joined politics in the 1970s as a legislator. He was an accomplished farmer, a seasoned administrator, and a man who believed deeply in Nigeria’s potential.
The nation will sorely miss his insightful perspectives and wealth of experience,” Tinubu stated.
The President highlighted Ogbeh’s role in advancing agricultural development, promoting political stability, and strengthening democratic governance, noting that his contributions “will remain indelible in the country’s history.”
Tinubu extended his condolences to the government and people of Benue State, as well as Ogbeh’s family, friends, and associates, praying for God to grant his soul eternal rest and to comfort his loved ones in this period of grief.
