THE Africa Institute for Solutions and Development (AISD), an institute under Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, has conducted a facility visit to L & Z Integrated Farms Nigeria Ltd as part of efforts to explore potential areas of partnership.
According to the MAAUN website, AISD delegation was received by the company’s management team, led by the Chief Operating Officer, Adelaja Ayo, and the Chief Project Officer, Peter Atepowaye.
During the visit, the delegation was taken on a guided tour of the company’s major operational units, including the production room, livestock sections housing various breeds of cows, and milk collection centres.
The team also inspected feed storage facilities, processing areas, and administrative units, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the company’s integrated operations.
Speaking during the engagement, the management of L & Z Integrated Farms outlined the company’s operations, partnerships, supply chain framework, and development model.
They expressed confidence that a partnership with AISD would be productive, citing the institute’s credibility and experience in development initiatives.
Members of the AISD delegation described L & Z as a “silent achiever,” noting that its development models possess strong potential for replication.
They further observed that with proper refinement and replication across different communities, the models could attract additional grants and deliver broader social impact.
The delegation expressed optimism that such collaboration could help address key social challenges, including early marriage and the rising number of out-of-school children.
Both parties identified key areas of collaboration, including corporate engagement, community-based interventions, and advocacy programmes.
The AISD delegation included Mohammad Israr, Prof. of MAAUN; Audu Liman, Executive Chairman of AISD; and Salisu Muhammad, Executive Director of the institute.
Other members of the delegation were Ahmed Mohammed, S. Associate AISD; Muktari Shitu; Hayatuddeen M. Abdallah; Musa Gambo; and Basirat Iyewo.
