Super Eagles Akinsanmiro Nears €7.5m Permanent Move To Monza After Inter Exit Agreement

SUPER Eagles midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro is on the verge of leaving Inter Milan after the Italian giants reached an agreement with Serie A side Monza for his permanent transfer.

News Point Nigeria Sport reports that transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed that Monza have agreed to sign the Nigerian midfielder in a deal worth €7.5 million, with Inter Milan also securing a 10 per cent sell-on clause, reflecting the club’s belief that the youngster could command an even bigger transfer in the future.

Akinsanmiro’s future at Inter had remained uncertain following his return to the club at the end of last season.

The 21-year-old spent the previous campaign on loan at Pisa but was unable to help the club avoid relegation from Italy’s top flight. Despite holding an €8 million option to make the move permanent, Pisa opted against activating the clause.

In recent weeks, speculation had linked the Nigerian midfielder with a move to the German Bundesliga before Monza eventually won the race for his signature.

Inter Milan signed Akinsanmiro from Nigeria Premier Football League side Remo Stars in 2024, marking one of the rare direct transfers from the Nigerian domestic league to one of Europe’s biggest clubs, a move made possible by his outstanding early promise.

However, first-team opportunities at the San Siro proved limited, leading to successive loan spells at Sampdoria and later Pisa.

The move to Monza is expected to provide the midfielder with the stability and regular playing time needed to further develop his career, although his new club will have challenges of their own after recently returning to Italy’s top flight and facing the prospect of an immediate relegation battle.

With all major details of the agreement already settled, Akinsanmiro is expected to complete his permanent move to Monza before the end of this week or, at the latest, early next week.
