KANO State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated the Commander-General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, on the conferment of an honorary Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) degree by Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto (UDUS).
The honorary degree was bestowed on Sheikh Daurawa during the institution’s 42nd Convocation Ceremony held on September 6, 2025, in Sokoto.
Governor Yusuf delivered his congratulatory message while receiving the awardee at the commencement of the 31st State Executive Council meeting at the Governor’s Lodge, Kwankwasiyya City.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor described the recognition as a well-deserved honor, commending Sheikh Daurawa’s immense contributions to Islamic scholarship, morality, and societal development.
“This recognition is a testament to your outstanding contributions to Islamic scholarship and your tireless efforts in promoting morality and societal values in Kano State and beyond,” Governor Yusuf said.
He noted that as Commander-General of the Hisbah Board, Daurawa had demonstrated unwavering commitment to eradicating immorality and building a just society, while earning respect across Nigeria for his dedication to Islamic education and values.
The governor further emphasized that the award not only celebrates Sheikh Daurawa’s personal achievements but also brings honor and pride to Kano State.
Governor Yusuf pledged his administration’s continued support for the Hisbah leader, urging him to remain steadfast in serving humanity and Islam with wisdom, knowledge, and compassion.
On behalf of the government and people of Kano, the governor offered prayers for Almighty Allah’s guidance and blessings on Sheikh Daurawa’s life and service to the community.
